4.3 Going vegan

In a world where you can be anything, be kind

Clare Pooley

A few months ago, I was finally ready to make this blogpost and I was so happy, that I finally made it to this particular post. Because, I saw it as an opportunity to finally kick start my conscious journey to become HAPPY AT HEART.

As I mentioned in the previous text in this category ”4.2 What do I want out of life?” I have already obtained a few of my goals from my dream list;

1.       Make a blog

2.       Take the education as an animal communicator

3.       Have a new car, which might need a replacement again soon ☹

4.       More children, I had my 3rd child

And then it has been quite for a few years, because I have been busy just being a mom, which is my biggest life purpose on this human journey.

But now the time seems right to start focusing about that little girl inside of me, that still have big dreams and allow her to go chase them and become even more HAPPY AT HEART 😊.

So, I sat down in quietness with myself and listen.

What spoke the most to me from the inside?

What did I feel was the most important change for me to do now?

What is really trigging my bad conscious and why?

And an old memory of mine came to the surface. It was a former teacher of mine who once told me “Karina, you can’t live of being kind” and it made me so sad and really broke something inside of me. It has taken me several years to deal with what this lady broke inside of me, because honestly, how poor is the world going to be if there is no kindness?

And then suddenly I knew what my next conscious step was going to be in order for me to become HAPPY AT HEART. It has been on my dream list for years, but I have never had the courage to pursue it. I might not be able to make a living of this act of kindness, but instead my kindness can give someone else the chance to live, which is more worth than money to me. In my point of view, it is the ultimate act of kindness on this planet, to go vegan.

For me it is first and foremost a statement to all the voiceless animals living in this world, to try and make it a better place for them to live. As an animal communicator, I know that animals have feelings and thoughts just like us humans and they are so wise and most of them are actually much wiser than most humans I have met. It is a statement to respect and love them for the loving and sentient beings that they are and to start honor them as fellow beings living here on Mother Nature.

So, for me this change is inevitably. I am going to take the small power that I have in this world as a conscious consumer, my money, and take it out of the industries that are hurting animals. And instead redirect them towards something that is supporting my visions for how human and animal life should be on this planet.

Another important reason for me to go vegan is my research from my previous blogposts 3.2 Carbon dioxide and 3.3 Deforestation that shows, that one of the biggest impacts we can make to safe Mother Nature is to go vegan. Because a lot of the CO2 emissions and deforestations derives from the meat and dairy industry.

When all this is said, it is not going to be an easy change for me, even though it is the right one. I have had a lot of reservations when it comes to making this change and they are;

-          Are we getting enough of the right food, that our body needs?

-          Is there more chemicals in the vegan produced food?

-          Will it increase the level of pesticides in our body?

-          Will I be able to find replacements for our meat and dairy products in the household?

-          Am I strong enough to keep this choice up, when facing the rest of the world?

-          Where can I get some knowledge of my body and what it needs to be healthy on a plant based diet, such as veganism.

-          Am I able to get the children to go vegan.

As I wrote in the beginning of this blogpost, I was ready to make the commitment to go vegan and then of course, life happened. I got a mail from this school saying that if I wanted to take an education in Nature Medicine, then this was the last opportunity to take it here in Denmark. And I knew that I couldn’t commit to both changing my diet and taking the education, with everything else going on in my life at the moment. So therefore, I decided to go with the education, because I am probably going to be working until I die, and I really want to find something that I love working with, and I really think, that this could be it.

Luckily for me, this first semester was pretty much all about the above the reservations I had about going vegan in the first place, so now that I have educated myself on what was holding me back, I can finally get moving on going vegan.

The animals need it and the planet needs it.

And this is the “How I am going to get there” plan.

1.       Consult one of the best vegan dieticians in DK, to figure out what supplements we need.

2.       To find replacements for the meat and dairy products, that we consume.

3.       Find a lot of easy wholefood vegan recipes, for a low budget and very little time and energy to cook.

So off I go 😊
